Bora Bora sounds lovely... you think I'll fit into your luggage?

So do I!

If you ever go, do you think you could swing by my place and pick me up?? :P

I like travel daydreams. Mine is London. I've never been there (actually, that can be said for a lot of places, including Bora Bora), and my sweetie has a copy of this book, which has gotten me thinking about all of the things that I want to photograph.

It's why I haven't posted a photo of myself on the forum yet -- I'm usually on the wrong side of the lens. :)

I *love* odd travel books. I'll have to pick that up!

You must, must, MUST go. I honestly believe everyone should experience Tahiti. We went for our honeymoon and it was the definition of heaven.

And on a side note, Bora Bora is BEAUTIFUL, but Moorea was even prettier. It is the most gorgeous spot on earth. :)

I am jealous as all hell! You *HAVE* to tell me about your trip.

Well, the PG-13 parts. ;)

Woman, I could write books about that trip.
A quick summary:
We decided to do a cruise because we wanted to see each island. It was a great way to go beause we discovered we loved Moorea more than Bora Bora and if we had just booked the trip to Bora Bora we never would have known that.
The water is crystal clear, warm, shallow... every fish is GORGEOUS! You must snorkel, and if you're up for diving do that as well. I can't swim, but with a life preserver I snorkel well, and diving is super easy because you have the air to regulate how deep you go and to get you back to the top. I didn't even have to try to swim! :)

We did a "Swim with Rays" outing... oh my god!! The huge stingrays are sweethearts! They flap all over you and even give hugs!! Then we were extra daring and did a "Swim with Sharks" outing. That was the most insane experience of my life. We swam with about twenty five 9-10 ft Black Tip sharks. The tour guide threw these huge tuna heads in the water and we could hear all the crunching. The sharks kept swimming and smacking us with their tails. They'd come up to about a foot from my face and then swim the other way. It was surreal.

The people of Tahiti are so sweet... they all want to talk and hang out. They're super mellow and have no real schedule... There are no poisonous snakes or bugs on the islands so you're safe. The animals are all relaxed and spoiled. It is truly paradise. And the fresh fruit and fish are to die for. I think I gained 20 pounds on our 2 week cruise because all we did was eat and relax.

I need to scan some pictures in the computer because we went before I had a digital camera. The colors are mindblowing there... the water, the sky, the flowers, the mountains... I can't even begin to do them justice.

You must go... it will be the best time of your life. :)

I could deal with that. Sigh.

That would be quite wonderful. One of these days - before I move out of Florida, I *am* going to take a cruise of the Caribbean. I doubt I'll ever get to the isles on that side of the world though...

For now, I think all of my travel budget will be eaten up planning a brewery tour of Europe. My man and I have already had to concede to the fact that it will have to be done in chunks instead of one grand long trip. We are planning the first chunk Ireland & Great Britain for our honeymoon - whenever that will be.

Me too!!! I want to stay in one of those "over water" huts on stilts with a clear window in the floor to look at ocean critters.

Eep! You had me until clear window floor. I have a fear of glass floors - don't ask me why, it's just one of those irrational fears.

I've always planned to go there...

My dream, though, is to buy one of those tiny tropical islands, and just move there...create my own little commune.

We (my hubby and I) are planning a trip to Bora Bora in a couple of years. We have been to Bali, Indonesia a couple of times and let me tell you it is heaven. I get home sick for Bali. I know I was Balinese in one of my past lives. Plus, there is some kick ass surfing there!
