Yeah right, we're supposed to trust that they won't save the images (or at least have the capability to save the ones of "interest"). Come on, if something happened, you'd think they'd say in hindsight, "sorry, we don't have any images of that person because we disabled the save feature". First of all, to "disable" it, means it *has* a save feature :P

And it's not hard to "un-blur" the image of a face ~ I just saw an example of it recently where law enforcement did this to an online predator.

Keep people happy and distracted with their beloved mundanities, and you can sneak all kinds of bigger stuff past them... seems to be working great for quite a few years now.

IAWTC. Deeply, deeply unsettling, the whole thing.

That...thing gives me the jeebies. It makes me feel dirty. The fact that they previewed it using an attractive woman in her skivvies doesn't help. Yeah, I know what fun a lot of people are going to be having with that.

Christ on a cracker. That is fucking ridiculous. It's like a joke, except it's not even remotely funny. Even more of our rights down the toilet. I'd much rather have them pat me down and wand me than voluntarily go through that x-ray thing. Just thinking about it makes me feel dirty.

Oh, yay, this thrills me -- especially since I'm flying to the UK this Sunday :/

Thankfully I'm flying out of Dulles instead of National (it still puts a bad taste in my mouth to call it "Reagan"), but still. Ugh.

I'm scared. I think I'll try and use boats and trains from now on.

Who designed it and thought a *save* function was even necessary?! Good lord. Have we had that many unthwarted terrorist attempts since the inception of the TSA that we now need to violate EVERYONE'S most basic of privacies?

Wow. This just makes me sick. I'm going to go do some more digging on this. Dammit. Thanks for posting this.
