Randomness.

3rd Rock From the Sun was such an awesome show. Oh, how I miss it.

I loved Soap, too.

I need both of those shows on DVD.

Ahh! 3rd Rock From the Sun was one of my faves as well! I LOVE how John Lithgow and Jane Curtin play off each other. That whole show was just so silly and good. :D

Oh god yes SOAP. I maranthonned season 2 the other day. The bit where Elaine dies always makes me cry, even 25 years after I first saw it. And the older I get the more I love Jessica.

TVLand shows Third Rock every night now from 10 pm to 11 pm EST. It's cut for commercials which kind of sucks, but it's good to see it again. I've been watching it religiously.

They started a week or two ago and have had hours long marathons on the weekends. Completely random and totally out of order, but it's a great fix. I had forgotten just how much I adored the show.

I'll probably wind up picking up the dvd sets anyway just to see it uncut. (And Soap rocked. I had the priviledge of visiting the set when they were shooting the part of the Bert-on-the-UFO story so have great personal affection for most of the cast and Jack Gilford.)

Seriously, way. My friend's dad was on another show that shot right next door so we went with him to watch them shoot an episode of his sitcom -- then we went to watch them shooting Soap. I was all of 15 and everyone was unbelievably nice to us.

Was it originally aired without commercials?

It was aired for commercials, but the time slots in the past 10 years have gotten shorter for programming, longer for commercials. So a good 2-3 minutes worth of programming is edited out to fit in MORE commercials.

*lol* an A-thon..

I had a Brit-com-a-thon the other week & am in the mood for a John Hughes-a-thon soon too (oooh sexy giiiiiirlfriiieeeend!").

You would love The IT crowd - a British comedy, it's everywhere on youtube. It's one of the few comedies that can make me cackle out loud & uncontrolably, just like Ab Fab used to..

SOAP was teh win!

I adored that show. I lvoed how tender Benson was to Jessica and how he looked after her. I loved how Benson would get his kicks torturing The Major and making him think boms were coming and TM would have to dive for it. I loved Burt and his waving snaps to become invisible. Even to this day I do that and very few people get it. They need to bring back that show.

*wave snap* you can't see me...I'm invisible.
