Quick weekend recap. Went to Blizzard event at Laguna Art Museum on Thursday with Brian. Ray Gresko was an angel, and took the time to introduce us around. Met Chris Metzen, Gerald Brom, Mike Morhaime, Jay Wilson, and Chris Sigaty. Every single one of them was charming, clever, and a joy to chat with. Blizzard hires good people.

Popped my BlizzCon cherry. Played the new worgen and goblin classes in WoW, and gave Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 test runs. The voice and dance competitions were hilarious, and there was some pretty amazing cosplay action going on. The Mistress of Pain (Diablo 3) and Kel’Thuzad were particularly awesome. Panels were fun and informative. Had every intention of posting commentary and pics (even tried to video the Illidan bit in the trailer), but then realized my pics suck, my video is jumpy, and any info anyone wants on Blizz is likely online long before my fingers can twitter it out. I am, happily, now up to my tits in murlocs.

Yesterday, we participated in Gris Grimly’s Tales of Death & Dementia book launch at Dark Delicacies. The crowd was fun, and there was a very upbeat, energetic vibe. Gris, Liz, Sue, Del, and Lisa are fantastic, lovely people, and we’re so happy to have been a part of this launch.

Really, there are few things in the world that beat working with people you love and respect.

Gris’ illustrations are fucking brilliant. If you haven’t bought the book, you really, really need to.

Weekend recap done. Back to work!

Glad you had a great time!

(Mildly jealous since seeing it in person is much better than following WoW.com's as-it-happens-blogs).

I loved it. I really, really did. Had such an amazing time!

I can't believe it took me this many years (and many attempts each year!) to score tix!

If you get a chance, I'd LOVE to hear about the new races. I'm pretty excited about Worgen and will probably re-roll as another druid. I've heard that the goblin racial bonus is pretty badass. But really, I'd like to hear from someone who was there and isn't just reading it from a website.

I can go into more detail when I'm not tabbing out of work files. Lawl! =) I had been begging and pleading since friends & family pre-alpha for goblins to be a playable race, so I am *fucking stoked*. I only really experienced two of the goblin racial perks -- the zoom boot thing and the belt rockets. Both are badass, and I see a heap of NERF GOBLINS in the future. Heh! The starting area is very Goblins Meet Mutiny on the Bounty. I love it. But like I said... very partial to goblins, and I'm all about engineering and engineering-lookin' doodads. (I have two Grand Master Engineers -- how lame is that!?)

I'm a little bummed that worgen are Alliance, 'cuz I'm all Horde, all the time. ;) The transformation sequence for worgen is fanfuckingtastic, and it was a lot of fun to play. I totally do not care that the worgen'ness is purely cosmetic. Its fucking badass. Honestly, I think this might actually tempt me to make an Alliance character for the first time since beta. The starting area is very atmospheric, gothic horror'esque, and dark. A little bit of James Whale influence in there, IMO.

If you have any questions, shoot them at me, and I'll do my best to answer them!

The starting area they had set up for us to play Goblins in was insane. Fast-paced too, LOVED it.

As far as them being FOR THE ALLIANCE?? Hell yes please. I've always played Alliance, and I've always wanted a dark character just on the edge, ya know? Worgen fit that role, and are totally badass. They need to "lope" though, ya know? Werewolves do NOT run upright, I know it in my heart!

Goblins are just bad ass enough to make me play horde, HA! Seriously. The only horde race I could get into was Tauren, but had such bad player to player experiences in the starting & surrounding areas I soon gave up. Poor Moolasses, is still only 12!

So glad you got to go to Blizzcon too! This was our first time of scoring tickets. It rocked, seriously.

Had a great time at DarkDel as usual. I think I've probably gushed about my love of the place to you quite enough tho. LOL

Tell Ted I enjoyed our chat, its always nice to meet people who love their pets like family (like I do!). And I'm sorry for the tears.. grateful for the hugs!

You know that big ole book that Del got down off the shelf for me? Well, hubby bought it for me. Now we need a coffee table... or maybe THAT should be the coffee table! Its big enough o.O

My beloved mr_rubix was absolutely WRECKED about worgen being Alliance -- I'm hoping that maybe enough good people can be scooped up to play worgen that it offsets the whole "having to play Alliance" bit ;)

The Mistress of Pain costume was awesome! We watched the live stream, and my darling husband was rooting for the shaman "He dropped his totems! Look, he dropped his totems!"

Ok... up to your tits in murlocs?!?!? Please explain!!! I want a murloc!!!!!

I am all butthurt that the Worgen are Alliance. I am 100% anti-alliance and would love to play Worgen. I thought the goblins should have been Alliance since they're pretty much just green dwarves/gnomes. lol! And Worgen are far too cool and dark for Alliance.

I am so jealous you got to go to BlizzCon... maybe someday I can witness it. :)
