I heard the interview this morning and all I could do was say, "This is the money shot -- this is what it all comes down to."

I reposted this in my journal. Thank you. Reading this made me feel...better, sort of. I mean, it made me angry as hell at everyone who's failing the victims of this hurricane and blaming them and generally wasting time, but it also gave me some hope that because of people like Mayor Nagin, some things and some people will get whipped the fuck into shape.

It's really nice to see a political figure speaking out the way he has. I saw an interview with Senator Landrieu last night and the reporter was trying really hard to get her to say something condemnatory about the US government's lack of action but she completely skirted around it and kept trying to speak directly to the victims (who are most obviously without electricity, much less televisions/radios/etc. at this point. WTF?). This really isn't the time for concerns over re-election/political correctness. I think everyone in the region has a right to and SHOULD be raging against the government right now instead of beating around the Bush.

The only good that is coming out of this is that people are starting to get angry. I was angry when Bush got us into Iraq and I was angry when he was reelected, but that doesn't compare to the anger I feel now.

Yeah, Mayor Nagin is my new hero too.
