I flew round trip from L.A. to Vegas on SW in February as part of my birthday celebrations. Right before all this mess happened. I am pretty glad I didn't know about it because seriously, I would have freaked out. Now they're talking about the mess with American Airlines too -- which I flew back n forth from NY to LA on that same trip. EEK!

Can you drive to Vegas instead? I'm guessing 5 hours in a car while pregnant =/= fun, but maybe you'd be safer?

Southwest has been all over the news with BS practices. I decided a while ago (when they kicked a girl off for wearing a miniskirt, and for when they bullied a minority who complained about a white passanger who threatened her) that I'd never fly with them.

I fly with Jetblue. They are fantastic.

Wow. That is frightening as my 10 yr old son usually flies on SW as an unaccompanied minor (to see his *%$#* father). Lovely.

I have flown Southwest quite a bit because I hunt down the very cheapest flights I can get on Hotwire.com. And those planes are so fucking old, they still have ash trays in the arm rests!!! O_o

Chances are at least you'll have a flight.
ATA, the biggest consolidater flying to Hawaii and Mexico, just went tits up this morning. There are thousands of people stranded mid journey and the other airlines to do not have to honor the tickets on another airline.

Wow. That is not comforting. O_o

Gee, I'll be flying SWA to Vegas in a few weeks, too. ONLY because I have far fewer choices coming from either OKC or Dallas - I'd give anything to fly JetBlue.

Then again, my parents fly SWA all over the place, commuting between their homes (1 here in OKLA, 1 in L.V.), and to various business meetings/events all over the country, and I've yet to lose them, knock wood.

Whenya goin'? Whatchya doin'? I'm going out over the weekend of 4/19, and I'd love to find out there's something interesting going on in Vegas, other than taking my niece to a Drake Bell concert in Henderson.
