Now I'm refreshing CNN over Props 4 & 8.

Looks grim. =(

Hate to say it, but I'm feeling very pessimistic about these two. It's definitely killing my Obama high. :(

Ditto :(

I feel almost guilty that these mean more to mean than the national election. We can, and WILL, change presidents. These measures will much harder to undo.

Florida's Prop 2 amendment, which would take away rights from *any* union not legally defined as a marriage, also won. I am disappointed, but not surprised.

I'm following it on MSNBC - you have to select the state, I think, and then select ballot measures.

Thanks for the link!

Amendments can always be overturned, ya know... although hopefully this one won't take as long as it took for Prohibition.

That's what I've been hearing for a while. If 8 passes, it will be overturned.

Narrow-minded Arkansans passed Initiative 1, which prohibits unmarried couples (same sex or not) from being foster parents. So yeah, don't allow caring people to foster kids because living in sin is wrong. It's far better to let them stay with their biological parents who beat, starve and fuck them. I really thought this one was too absurd to pass but I underestimated the enormity of ignorance. :( I have children on my caseload right now who need to be removed from their homes for their safety and DHS will not place them in care because they don't have enough foster homes. Maybe the initiative won't stand. *sigh*

Good luck down there!

I am happy Colorado went blue and defeated the ridiculous Amendment 48 to define a personhood as happening at the moment of conception.

Some whack jobs wanted that in our Constitution.

I know. How the hell did this happen? I'm disgusted.

We've had a major setback here in Arizona. I can't believe these f*cking people who voted this 102 bullshit in! They voted to amend the state constitution to read that "marriage is a union between one man and one woman".

I am disappointed and disgusted.
