Reminiscing. Where were you at midnight on New Year’s 2000? I was with Teddy at Trannyshack in San Francisco.

holed up in my apt with my two best friends. We were, ah, rather inebreated, stockpiling weapons (mostly swords) and carving runes into turnips and throwing them to the fates off my balcony.

Good times. Strange times, but good.

I think. I think I was covered in hickies left by a boyfriend when we'd been snowed in 2 days earlier and *really* unexpectedly kissing a cute girl friend (not girlfriend) at midnight at a new year's party. A *real* kiss. I was surprised. I'd thought she was straight.

Huh. My life is/was entertaining. Also, it doesn't suck. :)

OH no. That was new years 2001. Dangit. 2000. Um. That wasn't a particularly good year for me. I have no idea. Let's pretend it was 2001. Because that one was much more interesting. :)

I was with my ex at a party. Luckily, that (the ex and I) only lasted another couple of months.

At home with my family, and the worthless shitbag of a fiancé who dumped me unceremoniously 4 months later.

(And how I hate that such an auspicious date is now coloured by dismal memories.)

At home watching 10th Kingdom on DVD with a friend who is not really a friend any longer. Not such great memories. But, I've never been a New Years' kind of person.

At home by myself watching the fireworks on TV, sitting on an inflatable "2000" chair.

I won a bet over that. :D

To be honest, I wasn't really feeling the New Years' cheer anyway.

I was working at a Silicon Valley software company handing customer service for Y2K. My daughter was 6 at the time and was having a slumber party in a conference room near my cube. I made good money that night and got fed but IT's feast and Tech Support's feast (which let me take home leftovers) and the money helped towards my move to VA 22 days later.

I was at a party in a house overlooking a lake. Alcohol and fireworks were involved.

Atlantic City, having snuck into a party that was WAY too good for the likes of us, downing Cosmopolitans while my harpist friend entertained the guests.

I was huddled under a blanket on the couch, still in my formal attire/costume from the show I had performed in that evening. I had the flu.
